The Work

As a Cybersecurity OT Specialist, you will support Chinook's growth in ICS Cybersecurity, working with engineering and cybersecurity experts. Responsibilities include designing secure ICS environments, conducting inventories and risk assessments, developing security documentation, and implementing cybersecurity solutions. The role requires diligence, proactivity, and solutions orientation, with an opportunity to impact sustainability, resiliency, and cybersecurity markets.

This position is REMOTE, with up to 50% travel to client sites, primarily in the Eastern U.S. (Mid-Atlantic Region).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyze Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and integrate cybersecurity solutions.
  2. Identify operational issues; implement modifications to enhance cyber resilience.
  3. Conduct inventories and risk assessments for critical infrastructure.
  4. Test, harden, and monitor industrial control systems.
  5. Analyze events and apply risk management procedures.
  6. Maintain expertise in cybersecurity capabilities of vendor hardware/software.
  7. Evaluate computer/network systems, architectures, and products.
  8. Stay updated on cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines.
  9. Apply methodical and analytical problem-solving skills.
  10. Resolve technical issues and communicate status to departments.
  11. Implement controls, procedures, and policies for NERC CIP and NIST standards compliance.
  12. Review OT system designs and specifications for security.
  13. Contribute to process and procedure development.
  14. Participate in meetings, training, and functions.
  15. Communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent + 5 years relevant experience.
  • IAT Level II Certification (Security+, GICSP) required.
  • Experience designing/configuring servers, switches, workstations.
  • Experience programming control system devices.
  • Knowledge of RMF and NIST 800-53.
  • Experience with UFGS 25 05 11.
  • Proficiency with cybersecurity tools like Wireshark, Nessus, STIG Viewer, SCAP.

Citizenship/Clearance Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen; ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret or higher Security Clearance.
  • IAT Level III Certification (CISSP).
  • Certifications in Cisco, Juniper, Moxa, or other network switches.
  • Certifications in MS Windows Server, Active Directory, Enterprise OS.
  • Linux OS certifications.

Physical Considerations

  • Ability to walk construction sites, carry up to 25 lbs., climb stairs/ladders, work in various environments.
  • Maintain spatial awareness and safety standards near mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Wear PPE as required.
