Cybersecurity Officer

This is a remote role that can be located anywhere within the United States.

As the Cyber Security Officer, you will have overarching responsibility for cyber security in Siemens affiliated companies in the US with more than 12000 employees and ten factories. You will provide cybersecurity mentorship and operational support to management teams. You will support and consult on the implementation of cybersecurity in regional project and service business involving IT/OT (Information Technology / Operational Technology) topics, as well as related regional surrounding Information Technology infrastructure.
You will make an impact by:
  • Providing transparency on cybersecurity risks to country and business leaders.
  • Aligning and supporting business units and affiliated companies, strategic objectives regarding the mitigation of identified cybersecurity risks and execution of cybersecurity strategy.
  • Advise the organization with respect to any topics related to cybersecurity and region-specific cyber threats and risks.
  • Be responsible for and report related local governmental regulations.
  • Define and drive implementation of protection program for production facilities.
  • Coordinate incident & vulnerability management activities.
  • Provide limited technical consultation to operational aspects of the business.
  • 25% domestic travel may be required.
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Consulting, Information Technology Audit and / or technology related fields.
  • 2 years Operational Technology security space knowledge.
  • Previous experience in cybersecurity incident handling.
  • Qualified applicants must have United States citizenship. Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred Certification program Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
  • A solid grasp of industry standards/regulations of security standards, e. g. NERC CIP, CMMC, NIST, ISO27001, IEC 62443
  • Awareness of technology mega-trends such as cloud computing, AI and other groundbreaking technologies.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly terminology (verbally and written).
  • Together with relevant partners (e.g. CEO, Principal PSSO, project head), decide how to handle raised security risks in products and solutions and define risk acceptance criteria.
  • Basic and intermediate experience in security. Being able to estimate security threats and risks. Ability to analyze and evaluate security impacts on divisional mid-term strategy.
  • Proficiency to mediate between executive management and technical staff.
  • Ability to work in matrix-organization. Experienced with leading a remote team.
  • Experience leading a team of 5 or more members.
  • Project management experience or a certification. Past management of a portfolio of small projects.
  • Experience with crisis management in projects. Experience with process improvement projects, and organizational change.
  • Prior experience in Ethical Hacking, Cybersecurity Risk Management, or IT Audit is a strong plus.
  • Understands standard sales contracts, identifies risks arising from typical clauses in sales contracts and can implement basic comments/concepts minimizing such risks. Demonstrates a more detailed understanding of legal terms, relating impact and risks.
  • Ability to support and complete customer documented inquiries & questionnaires.

The pay range for this position is $148,540 - $254,640 the actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
