Maximus, Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Technical Lead to guide the contract with a Homeland Security client.

The role demands hands-on cybersecurity leadership, risk management, and regulatory compliance expertise, with on-site work near Annapolis Junction, MD. The ideal candidate will drive security strategy, coordinate cross-functional teams, and provide mentorship while ensuring 24x7 readiness and rapid remediation of findings.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required for the role.
• A decade of experience in cybersecurity or IT security.
• Proficient with NIST RMF and FISMA guidelines.
• Experience leading cybersecurity teams and programs.
• Hands-on with SIEM, IDS/IPS and endpoint security tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across levels.
• Willing to participate in on-call rotation and recall.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary cybersecurity technical lead for the contract.
• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and policies.
• Lead POA&M and ISVM remediation efforts and report status.
• Coordinate co-located cybersecurity teams and priorities.
• Oversee risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Mentor cybersecurity engineers and analysts.
• Lead security architecture reviews and technical assessments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align security with operations.
• Support continuous monitoring, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee PKI management activities and recall readiness.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support security operations.
