Job summary

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is offering an IT security internship in a collaborative in-office setting. You will support Vulnerability Management, Security Awareness, and Third-Party Risk, gaining hands-on experience across security functions in financial services.

You’ll work with cross‑functional teams, build dashboards, and participate in a capstone project presented to Information Security Leadership. Pursuing a technical degree with strong communication is required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at an accredited four-year institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT Security, MIS, or another technical discipline.
• Strong communication skills and a clear goal of building a career in information security.
• Preferred coursework in networking, operating systems, or security fundamentals.
• Progress toward CompTIA Security+ or ISC2 CC.

Responsibilities

• Support Vulnerability Management by coordinating with IT teams and tracking remediation.
• Assist Security Awareness initiatives including phishing simulations and training content creation.
• Assist Third-Party Risk assessments and vendor due diligence.
• Build dashboards and visualizations to show vulnerability trends and risk reduction.
• Shadow with multiple security teams and contribute to a capstone project for Information Security Leadership.
