Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to help protect AbbVie’s systems, data, and applications across Cybersecurity, SOC, IAM, and Application Security. The 11-week onsite internship will place interns in Lake County, IL, or other U.S.

AbbVie locations based on business needs. Responsibilities include monitoring security alerts, triage of events, access provisioning, secure code review, and supporting threat analysis and remediation efforts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI or related majors with a minor or concentration in Cybersecurity.
• Graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028
• Must be enrolled in university the semester following your internship and graduate within 1-year post internship

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and incidents, assist with vulnerability scanning and remediation, support security awareness initiatives, and document and report security issues
• Perform initial triage of security events and alarms, elevate potential threats to senior analysts, maintain logs and incident records, and assist with threat analysis and resolution
• Process access requests and account provisioning, run access reviews and audits, maintain account and permission documentation, and support password management and authentication troubleshooting
• Support secure code review and testing and assist with application vulnerability assessments
