Binergy Scientific is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern focused on CMMC Level 2 compliance in Atlanta, GA. This in-person, part-time role offers hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, NIST 800-171 controls, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks within a defense-focused setting.

You will support the assessment and documentation of security controls, help prepare compliance artifacts, and participate in internal audits and readiness reviews while collaborating with IT and security

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC).
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
U.S. Citizenship is required for defense industry work.

Responsibilities

Support assessment and documentation of security controls aligned with CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 requirements.
Assist in preparing and maintaining compliance artifacts (policies, procedures, SSPs, POA&Ms).
Participate in internal audits, gap analyses, and security readiness reviews.
Help manage and secure Windows Server systems, including updates and configuration.
