Paid Internship – CMMC Documentation Program
Compensation: $20 per hour
Location: Hybrid
Duration: 3–6 months, with potential extension
Hours: 40 hours per week
Position Overview
Vi-Haus is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CMMC Documentation Intern to support our Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance efforts. This paid internship offers hands-on experience working with real-world cybersecurity documentation, policies, and compliance frameworks in support of federal contracting requirements. The intern will assist with organizing, updating, and maintaining documentation aligned with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 1/Level 2 requirements under the guidance of senior IT and compliance staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation, review, and maintenance of CMMC-related documentation, including:
- Policies and procedures
- System Security Plans (SSPs)
- Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms)
- Asset inventories and data flow diagrams
- Map existing documentation and practices to CMMC and NIST 800-171 controls
- Help organize evidence and artifacts to support CMMC readiness
- Participate in compliance meetings and documentation reviews
- Track documentation updates and version control
- Perform general administrative and research tasks related to cybersecurity compliance
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program related to:
- Information Technology
- Cybersecurity
- Information Systems
- Computer Science
- Business / Compliance / Risk Management
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with any of the following is a plus (but not required):
- CMMC framework
- NIST SP 800-171 or 800-53
- ISO 27001
- IT governance or risk management concepts
- Interest in cybersecurity compliance or government contracting
