Job summary

WMATA’s Cybersecurity Internship Program offers students hands-on experience across governance, risk and compliance, application security, vulnerability management, and IT/OT monitoring. Interns rotate through departments within transit operations, guided by mentors and real projects in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in related degree programs, have solid PC skills, and demonstrate strong analytical and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a related degree.
• Freshman year completed and entering sophomore year.
• Minimum 2.8 GPA required.
• Prior favorable performance evaluation for prior summer preferred.
• Major aligned with internship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Compile, review and analyze data; produce reports.
• Support in research for management and operations reports.
• Create presentations and data visualizations.
• Assist in training sessions and meetings.
• Maintain safety and compliance awareness as required.
