Job summary

Air Force Research Laboratory in Colorado Springs seeks an entry- to mid-level DEVSECOPS Software Programmer to join the Orbital Labs Software Factory Branch, AFRL/RJSX. You will design, develop, test, and deploy space software applications and perform cybersecurity tasks across the development lifecycle.

Required qualifications include active CompTIA CySA+ or CISSP/CISM/CRISP certifications, Secret or TS/SCI clearance, and 3+ years in IT and cybersecurity; telework may be allowed per policy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive IT and cybersecurity experience.
• Working knowledge of federal standards such as NIST SP, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
• Active cybersecurity certifications such as CySA+, CISSP, CISM, or CRISP.

Responsibilities

• Serves as DEVSECOPS Software Programmer in system analysis and applications software design and implementation.
• Designs, develops, tests, and deploys operational space software applications to equip users with mission enabling technology.
• Analyzes complex security processes and/or unusual problems related to security design of MIS and applications.
• Performs testing, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for system and application discrepancies.
• Participates in discussions and projects and provides reports on cybersecurity issues.
• Works with subject matter experts to identify requirements, operations, processes, and products.

The Orbital Labs Software Factory Branch, AFRL/RJSX seeks to hire an entry or mid-level, DO-2210-1/2 in downtown Colorado Springs.

Position Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Serves as DEVSECOPS Software Programmer in system analysis and applications software design and implementation.
• Designs, develops, evaluates, tests, and deploys operational space software applications to equip users with mission enabling technology.
• Analyzes complex security processes and/or variety of unusual problems, questions, or conditions relative to the security design of management information systems and applications.
• Performs testing, troubleshooting,and corrective actions for system and application discrepancies.
• Participates in discussions, meetings, committees, or projects and provides reports, recommendations for overall cybersecurity issues.
• Works with organizational subject matter experts to ID and specify requirements, operations, processes, and products for use.
• Uses expert judgment to make decisions and assess technical feasibility and risk ratings for user/customer deployments.
• Modifies and adapts precedent solutions to unique or specialized requirements.
• Conducts reviews and studies to evaluate software for operational use.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Education: Active CompTIA CySA+ | CompTIA certification, Industry-standard credentials such as the CISSP, CISM, or CRISP'
• Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
• Travel and/or performance of additional duties may be required.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
• 3+ years of progressive IT and cybersecurity experience,
• Framework Foundational Understanding: working knowledge of federal standards such as NIST Special Publications, FISMA, and FedRAMP
  
  

Desired Qualifications

Educational: Associate of Science in Cybersecurity (Bachelor's degree preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
