Our client in the technology and cybersecurity sector seeks an IT Governance and Compliance Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure - Engineering team in Sacramento, CA. You will lead patch management, secure configuration baselines, and support vulnerability remediation and compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in IT infrastructure or cybersecurity, experience with Windows and Linux, and strong documentation skills to develop standards, procedures, and metrics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity operations, or related fields.
• Experience with Windows Server, Windows endpoints, and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of patch management methodologies, change control processes, and security best practices.
• Ability to analyze vulnerability scan results and implement remediation strategies.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to develop standards, procedures, and operational metrics.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise patch management for Windows and Linux servers and endpoints, ensuring timely deployment and compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain secure configuration standards and baseline configurations to support operational stability and cybersecurity objectives.
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts, prioritize findings based on risk, and reduce vulnerability backlog.
• Monitor systems for configuration drift and ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with security teams to review vulnerability findings, implement corrective actions, and document compliance efforts.
