Job summary

University of New Mexico seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Management Information Systems, preferably with cybersecurity expertise, starting August 2027. The position is within the Ellis School of Business Leadership (formerly Anderson) and will contribute to MIS offerings and a CS-focused MS program.

The department emphasizes collaborative learning, scholarly work across MIS areas, and service to the university and community. Teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: earned doctorate or strong prospect for completing a doctorate from an accredited institution by Aug 2027 in MIS, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Preferred Qualifications: evidence of promise of research in cybersecurity and/or MIS; demonstrated excellence or promise in teaching MIS core and elective courses; ability or interest in teaching MIS core/elective courses and online instruction; commitment to understanding New Mexico culture and mission of serving local/global communities.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate MIS courses, preferably including Cybersecurity.
• Contribute to high-quality research and scholarly work in cybersecurity and MIS.
• Engage in service activities within the department and university, and participate in online teaching as needed.

Earned doctorate in MIS/Information Systems/Cybersecurity or closely related field
