Job summary

Texas Southern University is seeking an associate professor of Management Information Systems with a strong emphasis on Cybersecurity. This is a 9-month tenure-track position with teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and graduate levels.

The ideal candidate holds a doctoral degree in MIS with Cybersecurity focus or related discipline, with substantial professional MIS experience and cybersecurity certifications. A proven research agenda and publications are required for hire.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Management Information Systems with a focus on Cybersecurity from a regionally accredited university.
• A doctoral degree with substantial professional experience and certifications in MIS will also be considered.
• Professional certification in Cybersecurity is required.
• At least four referred academic journal publications at time of hire.
• Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems and Cybersecurity.
• Conduct research that is presentable at professional academic conferences and acceptable for publication in referred academic journals.
• Participate in departmental, school and university committees.
• Engage in service to the profession and the surrounding community.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
