Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a senior leader to plan, supervise and direct the engineering functions of the Cybersecurity Technology Engineering team. You will guide the strategic vision, provide technical leadership, and ensure security controls protect NFCU's data and IT assets across the enterprise.

The role requires extensive experience in network security engineering, leadership of a mid-to-large team, and collaboration with auditors and senior leadership to align security posture

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a network engineering or cybersecurity engineering position (10 years preferred).
• Experience as a lead engineer or manager on a network security team.
• Experience with common network security tools: firewalls, IPS/IDS and/or ISE.
• Experience with change control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical manager for firewalls, IPS/IDS, network access controls and microsegmentation.
• Review and approve production change requests.
• Manage a team of about 15 network security engineers.
• Provide vision for the future direction of the cybersecurity posture of the enterprise.
• Oversee vulnerability and threat assessments, mitigation and reporting activities.
• Act as the hiring authority for employees and contractors.
