Job summary

Qualifications

  • Student-level programming knowledge in C/C++, Python, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product Security team to enhance cybersecurity across Emerson’s product portfolio.

Job description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Collaborate with the Product Security team to enhance cybersecurity across Emerson’s product portfolio.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of secure coding practices.
  • Support efforts to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Participate in agile development processes and contribute to secure software/firmware development.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations through persuasive writing and effective verbal communication.
  • Engage in empathetic thinking to understand user and stakeholder needs.
  • Learn and apply cybersecurity principles in a real-world product environment.
  • Work in a team-oriented setting and contribute to a collaborative culture.
Who You Are:
  • You are curious and eager to learn. You show interest in product cybersecurity and/or regulatory compliance. You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and speaking. You think empathetically and work well in teams. You are open to feedback, adaptable to change, and motivated to grow your skills in a dynamic environment.
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Pursuing Bachelors in engineering
  • Zero (0) years of applicable experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • An ABET-accredited engineering degree in Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of basic security concepts such as encryption, secure software development, and regulatory compliance
  • Student-level proficiency in a programming/scripting language such as C/C++, Python, PowerShell, etc.
