SecureTech in the Washington, DC area seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Senior ISSE) to guide information security across the acquisition life cycle. You will document requirements and perform security reviews to ensure architectures follow cybersecurity guidelines.

The role requires a BS degree and 10+ years in related work, including 4+ years in cybersecurity, with Security X, CISSP, or CISM typical at this level. Early-to-senior career paths are available with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• BS degree plus at least 10 years of related experience, including 4+ years in cybersecurity.
• HS diploma alternative with 14 years of related experience is acceptable.
• Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or CISM are typical at this level.

Responsibilities

• Document and address information security and security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
• Ensure systems and architectures align with customer cybersecurity guidelines.
• Perform security reviews, identify gaps, and develop risk management plans.
• Define impacts of new systems/interfaces on current security posture.
• Serve as primary security engineering representative on engineering teams for secure networking and enclave environments.
• Assist designers in implementing security functionality to ensure policy compliance.
• Support enforcement of trusted relations among external systems and architectures.
• Identify overall security requirements for Government data handling.
• Design systems with multiple enclaves and varied data protection levels.
• Mentor junior team members.

Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Senior ISSE) - U

• MD, DC

These positions do not require a gov't security clearance.

As a SecureTech Senior ISSE , you might:

• Document and address organization's information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle.
• Ensure that system(s) and architecture(s) are consistent with customer's cybersecurity architecture guidelines.
• Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan.
• Define and document how the implementation of a new system or new interfaces between systems impacts the security posture of the current environment.
• Participate as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and/or integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
• Assist systems designers and developers in the implementation of information security functionality to ensure compliance with appropriate security policy and enterprise solutions.
• Support the Government in the enforcement of the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
• Identify overall security requirements for the proper handling of Government data.
• Perform system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves, to include those with differing data protection/classification requirements.
• Mentor/instruct junior team members.

You build IA into systems deployed to operational environments. You assist architects and systems developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate secure functionality to ensure uniform application of our customer's security policy and enterprise solutions.

These senior level roles require a BS degree and at least ten (10) years of related experience, including at least four (4) years of direct cybersecurity experience (or a HS diploma plus fourteen years), with Cybersecurity certification.
