Job summary

Vantor, a defense-focused space cybersecurity innovator, is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen national security by securing space-sensing systems across the lifecycle. The role requires designing, testing, and validating security controls on DoD programs and coordinating with engineers, operators, and mission stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience, secrecy clearance, and DoD 8140 Level II; bachelor’s in engineering or IT, with deep knowledge of RMF,

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer on DoD programs.
  • Experience providing input to RMF process activities and documentation.
  • Experience planning and executing MBCRA and MBRA-C.
  • Ability to develop threat scenarios for cyber test events.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy, networking concepts and protocols.
  • DoD 8140 Level II Certification such as Security+ or equivalent.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Information Assurance, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Test, analyze, evaluate, verify, and validate system performance while identifying vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and mission stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity throughout the system life cycle.

Join Vantor and help secure the future of space sensing for the U.S. Air Force.Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.Qualifications:7+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer supporting Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including space, ground, and hardware systemsExperience providing input to Risk Management Framework process activities and documentationExperience planning and executing Mission Based Cyber Risk Assessments (MBCRA) and Mission Based Risk Assessments – Cyber (MBRA-C)Experience developing threat scenarios that can be used to support cyber test events such as Cyber Table Top (CTT)Knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy principles, computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologiesKnowledge of network design processes, including security objectives, operational objectives, and trade-offsAbility to perform technical analyses of cybersecurity architectures and network diagramsSecret clearanceBachelor’s degreeDoD 8140 Level II Certification such as Security+ CertificationPreferred Qualifications:Experience with space-based remote sensing systemsExperience developing system security context and a preliminary system security Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and defining baseline system security requirements in accordance with applicable cybersecurity requirementsTS/SCI clearanceBachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Information Assurance, Information Security, or a related field preferred; Master’s degree in Engineering, IT, Information Assurance, or Information Security a plusDoD 8140 Level III Certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ISSEP, or ISSAP CertificationClearance: SecretThe position will require at least 2-3x per week on site. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.
