Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer, Principal to support DSMS. The role focuses on guiding security posture, coordinating cybersecurity activities, and delivering modern security platforms including Splunk and cloud services (AWS, Azure). Requires Top Secret/SCI, 8+ years of related experience and CISSP/CISM/GSLC.

The position is based in Fort Belvoir, VA with onsite work; travel up to limited percentage. U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, distribute, and maintain security plans, instructions, guidance, and SOPs.
• Communicate security and compliance issues to government leaders and Cybersecurity staff.
• Provide status reports related to cybersecurity metrics and risk indicators.
• Oversee policy standards and implementation strategies to ensure compliance with security baselines.
• Assure implementation of security requirements aligns with information policies.
• Engage customers to communicate solutions and influence action.
• Deliver and architect modernized Cyber Security platforms (Splunk, Palo Alto) and Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

GDIT is seeking a creative and driven Cybersecurity Engineer, Principal to support DTRA’s Defense Stockpile Management Support (DSMS) Contract.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate the value of information technology security throughout all levels of the organizational stakeholders.
• Advise appropriate leadership of changes affecting the organization’s cybersecurity posture, to include changes in risk levels and security posture.
• Act as part of a team of geographically dispersed personnel to ensure cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are coordinated and executed successfully.
• Prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures concerning the security of operational environment.
• Communicate security and compliance issues to government leaders, Cybersecurity staff in an effective and appropriate manner.
• Provide status reports to stakeholders, and government personnel related to cybersecurity metrics/results, key risk indicators, trending and compliance.
• Oversee policy standard and implementation strategies to ensure procedures and guidelines comply with cybersecurity policies.
• Assure successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and appropriate information policies and procedures are consistent with security baselines.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage current and prospective customers (CIOs, AO, CSSP, Program executives, etc.) to build trust and relationships, clearly communicate solutions and concepts, and influence action.
• Deliver and Architect modernized Cyber Security platforms (Splunk, PaloAlto, etc) and Cloud-based security platforms (AWS, Azure,etc.)

The likely salary range for this position is $187,000 - $253,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
