Job summary

Trident Systems Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer in Fairfax, VA to join our IRAD team. The role involves risk assessment, security control implementation, and documentation across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments.

You will collaborate with software, cybersecurity, and program teams to ensure secure prototypes and prepared transition to operations. The position targets early-career engineers with DoD cybersecurity framework experience, familiar with STIGs and vulnerability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• Security+ certification is required.
• 1+ years of cybersecurity or related experience.
• Working knowledge of DoD RMF and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Experience reviewing DISA STIG findings and vulnerability scans.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate cybersecurity requirements into system concepts, architectures, and tests.
• Identify security risks and recommend mitigations for prototype systems.
• Map RMF, STIG, and CUI requirements to prototype systems and document controls.
• Analyze vulnerability scans and coordinate remediation with engineers.
• Validate security settings and hardening across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain risk assessments, control matrices, and test documentation.
• Present risk findings and mitigations to leadership and support transition activities.
• Automate security checks and reporting using scripting tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, admins, and program managers to support IRAD work.
