Job summary

Peraton in Herndon, VA is seeking Summer 2027 Cybersecurity Engineer Interns to support multiple programs. Interns should commit to ten weeks (June–August) and roughly 35–40 hours per week, working on IT and cybersecurity tasks.

Candidates are technical college students progressing toward a bachelor's in cybersecurity or related field, US citizenship required, and hands-on coursework or internships in cybersecurity tools.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
• US Citizenship.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, CE, information systems, or related field.
• Foundational education in cybersecurity technologies and processes.
• Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools through coursework and/or internships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt and learn new technologies quickly.
• Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, team player.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT, Cyber and basic systems support for the commercial products.
• Support a series of IT Cybersecurity efforts as part of a project team.
• Become familiar with high level operational and maintenance tasks on programs.
• Learn about different types of IT technology (e.g., VMware, Cisco, Red Hat, Microsoft).
• Learn about Peraton and project culture.
