Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer 3 to join our team in Reston, VA. The role focuses on designing and maintaining robust security controls, incident response, and regulatory compliance across cloud, on-premises, and DevSecOps environments.

A TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph is required, along with hands-on experience in risk management, log analysis, and security testing. The ideal candidate will collaborate with IT, development, and compliance teams to enforce security

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Experience designing and implementing security controls (7+ years).
• Strong experience with log analysis using tools like Splunk.
• Experience with government security standards (NIST SP 800-53, RMF, ICD 503, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Experience securing cloud, container, and DevSecOps environments (IL5-IL6+).
• Proficiency with security tools (Fortify, Acunetix, Prisma Cloud).
• CISSP or equivalent certification supporting DoD 8140 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, encryption).
• Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement incident response plans for security incidents and breaches.
• Collaborate with IT, development, and compliance to enforce security policies.
• Monitor networks and logs to detect and respond to incidents.
• Analyze anomalies and security breaches to mitigate risks.
• Integrate security into the development lifecycle and maintain documentation.
• Prepare detailed reports on security findings, incidents, and actions.
