PlanIT Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer (DOTCOM) to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will work as part of a small cross-functional team, participating in development and support efforts to maintain a secure web presence. Responsibilities include managing web security applications to monitor and mitigate attacks on web-facing applications.

Job Description

Work as part of a small cross-functional team to develop and support a secure web presence. Manage web security applications to monitor and mitigate attacks on web-facing applications.

Operational Responsibilities

• Ensure internal and external data security, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.
• Implement observability across platforms for application monitoring and alerting.
• Deploy threat detection and mitigation techniques to ensure data and application security.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure security compliance.

Qualifications

• Functional understanding of web application architecture.
• Knowledge of PCI Security requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Preferred: Human Code Defender knowledge.

Experience & Education

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity and NIST standards, with 5+ years of technical writing.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines with extensive experience, or Master's/PhD with corresponding experience.

Certifications (Required)

• CompTIA Security+
• CPTE or CEH
• CISA

Additional Requirements

• Must obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
• Pass client mandated clearance, including drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
• U.S. Citizenship required; must have resided in the U.S. for the past 5 years.
• Limited travel outside the U.S. within the last 5 years (exceptions for military service).
