Overview

Immediate need for a talented Cybersecurity Engineer. This is a 06+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Wauwatosa, WI (Onsite).

Job ID: 25-86007

Pay Range: $50 - $55/hour. Base pay range: $50.00/hr - $55.00/hr. Employee benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities
  • Vulnerability Management & Incident Response
  • Maintain cyber Bills of Materials (BOM) and proactively monitor cyber components.
  • Conduct vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, and risk assessments on hardware and software.
  • Lead incident response processes related to product cybersecurity events.
  • Create detailed reports and trend analyses on vulnerabilities, threats, and incident outcomes.
  • Develop tools to automate vulnerability tracking, trending, and change detection (e.g., SBOM, SCAP, NESSUS comparisons).
  • Design and implement early-warning systems for changes in product security posture.
  • Product & Commercial Support
  • Perform monthly DoD security scans and coordinate remediation activities.
  • Prepare quarterly POAM (Plan of Action and Milestones) reviews and track open issue closures.
  • Respond to commercial and installed base customer inquiries regarding cybersecurity risks.
  • Support end-of-life product security processes.
  • Collaborate with software/hardware architects to define and implement security requirements and best practices.
  • Participate in threat modeling and attack surface reduction activities.
  • Provide input on the secure design of complex technologies, especially in Critical Infrastructure/Key Resource (CI/KR) environments.
  • Schedule: Must be flexible to accommodate meetings with global teams, including early hours to support EU counterparts.
  • Engagement: Deliverables will align with product development and launch milestones.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience
  • Key Skills: TCP/IP, Python, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, IEC 62443
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Cyber Security.
  • Certification in Privacy, Security, or Regulatory domains (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).
  • Experience with TCP/IP, Wireshark, and analyzing network traffic.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, CUDA).
  • Familiarity with vulnerability types and ethical exploitation techniques.
  • Experience in medical device cybersecurity and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53).
  • Understanding of healthcare industry workflows.
  • Knowledge of Ultrasound systems or medical imaging software development.
  • Experience with secure coding, code signing, and secure boot mechanisms.
  • Prior involvement with blended Agile teams across global time zones.
  • Engagement: Deliverables will align with product development and launch milestones.
