Job summary

Evolver is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise security controls across on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud environments, strengthening our security posture with tooling and monitoring.

You will develop and maintain security runbooks, contribute to vulnerability management, IAM, incident response, and cloud security initiatives, while coordinating with internal teams and vendors to improve detection and remediation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or enterprise security programs.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, firewalls, IAM, or cloud security platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of incident response activities including detection, triage, investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise security controls across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Provide cybersecurity engineering and advisory support to strengthen the organization's security posture.
  • Support security tooling, monitoring platforms, vulnerability management, identity and access management controls, and cloud security initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of security documentation, procedures, standards, and operational runbooks.
  • Support security incident detection, investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
  • Coordinate with internal technology teams, third-party vendors, and managed security service providers on security incidents, remediation activities, and operational improvements.
  • Evaluate security findings, identify risk mitigation options, and recommend practical remediation strategies.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of security operations, monitoring, response processes, and technical controls.
  • Deliverables: Security engineering support for cybersecurity initiatives and projects; Technical documentation, security procedures, standards, and runbooks; Regular status updates on activities, risks, and security outcomes; Security assessment findings and risk mitigation recommendations; Security monitoring, investigation, and incident response support; Timely, professional communications.

Summary


The Cybersecurity Engineer will provide cybersecurity engineering and operational support services to help maintain and improve the organization's security posture across on-premises and cloud environments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and continuously improving enterprise security controls, security tooling, monitoring platforms, vulnerability management processes, identity and access management controls, and cloud security initiatives.



Key Responsibilities



  • Design, implement, and support enterprise security controls across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

  • Provide cybersecurity engineering and advisory support to strengthen the organization's security posture.

  • Support security tooling, monitoring platforms, vulnerability management processes, identity and access management controls, and cloud security initiatives.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of security documentation, procedures, standards, and operational runbooks.

  • Support security incident detection, investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery activities.

  • Coordinate with internal technology teams, third-party vendors, and managed security service providers on security incidents, remediation activities, and operational improvements.

  • Timely and professional responsiveness to communications, including email, meeting invites, chats, and phone calls.



Basic Qualifications



  • 5 years of experience supporting cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or enterprise security programs.

  • 5 years hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management, firewalls, identity and access management, or cloud security platforms.

  • 5 years working knowledge of incident response activities, including detection, triage, investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.

  • 5 years of experience securing cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • 5 years of experience with vulnerability management, risk assessment, security monitoring, and incident response workflows.

  • 5 years of experience coordinating with managed security service providers, technology vendors, and cross-functional IT teams.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Familiarity with identity governance, privileged access management, multi-factor authentication, and access control practices.

  • Relevant cybersecurity certification such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Azure Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent experience.

  • Understanding of common cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices.

  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, standards, and operational runbooks.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Security engineering and technical problem solving.

  • Risk-based thinking and sound judgment.

  • Clear written and verbal communication.

  • Strong documentation and process discipline.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.

  • Responsiveness, ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset.
