Job summary

Ingenix Technologies, Inc. is seeking a cybersecurity engineer to develop, configure, test, and evaluate tools, detections, dashboards, and workflows that safeguard critical systems.

You will support security assessments, analyze architectures, and collaborate across software, systems, hardware, and cybersecurity teams to embed protections into prototypes and customer solutions. Strong scripting and security experience are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cybersecurity engineering, network security, security tool development, detection engineering, system hardening, or vulnerability analysis.
• Understanding of networking, operating systems, logging, access control, vulnerability management, and defensive security principles.
• Ability to develop scripts, tools, queries, rules, or automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL, or similar technologies.
• Comfortable analyzing technical systems, troubleshooting security issues, and communicating practical mitigation options.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, test, and evaluate cybersecurity tools, scripts, detections, dashboards, or analysis workflows
• Support network and system security assessments, including traffic analysis, vulnerability analysis, logging, and defensive monitoring
• Work with IDS/IPS, SIEM, packet capture, endpoint, or custom security tools to identify and investigate security-relevant behavior
• Analyze system architectures, communication paths, interfaces, and data flows for cybersecurity concerns
• Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and cybersecurity teammates to integrate security capabilities into larger prototypes or customer systems
• Document findings, assumptions, test results, technical tradeoffs, and recommended mitigations for engineering and customer audiences

What we're looking for

• Experience in cybersecurity engineering, network security, security tool development, detection engineering, system hardening, or vulnerability analysis

Nice to have

• Experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM, packet analysis, endpoint security, vulnerability scanning, YARA, Sigma, Suricata, Zeek, Wireshark, Splunk, Elastic, or similar tools
• Experience with weapon systems, embedded systems, cyber-physical systems, OT, IC, SCADA, vehicles, sensors, or mission networks
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST SP 800‑53, NIST SP 800‑171, NIST SP 800‑82, or DoD cybersecurity processes
• Experience building custom cybersecurity tools, test harnesses, dashboards, data pipelines, or automated analysis workflows
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, GICSP, CISSP, or similar
• Active DoD Secret clearance
