Job summary

Infinity Systems Engineering is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security measures protecting the organization’s IT infrastructure, networks, and data. The role involves vulnerability assessments, incident response, and RMF-aligned compliance to industry standards.

The successful candidate will have a strong cybersecurity background, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, computer science, information technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of cybersecurity/network security experience.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification.
  • ACAS/Nessus/Tenable experience.
  • RMF assessments and compliance audits using STIG Viewer and SCAP.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build security architectures, integrate new features, and provide engineering recommendations.
  • Develop cyber requirements to DoD 8570/8140 standards.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and compliance audits; triage findings and design remediation.
  • Assess RMF artifacts for deviations from RMF control requirements.
  • Establish program control processes for certification testing, compliance documentation, investigations, and audits.

Job Summary:

The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure, networks, and data. This role involves assessing vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in cybersecurity, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work cross-functionally to enhance the organization’s security posture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build security architectures, integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures, design cybersecurity architectural artifacts, and provide engineering recommendations to resolve integration and testing issues.
  • Develop cyber requirements to DoD 8570/8140 standards.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and compliance audits, triage and prioritize findings, design remediation solutions, and apply fixes (configuration changes, system hardening, patching) to bring systems into compliance with RMF controls and enclave policy
  • Assess RMF artifacts and identify deviations from RMF control requirements.
  • Establish program control processes covering certification testing, compliance documentation, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, inspections, and periodic audits to support system assessment and authorization.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, computer science, information technology or related field, or combination of experience and education.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience cybersecurity, network security, or related fields
  • Clearance Requirement: Secret
  • Required Skills:
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification.
  • Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Experience (Nessus / Tenable Security Center).
  • Experience performing RMF assessments and compliance audits using STIG Viewer and SCAP.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience sustaining Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as UEWR, PAVE PAWS, or PARCS.
  • Scripting experience to support remediation and configuration tasks (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise.
  • Experience supporting assessment and authorization (A&A) of DoD systems.
  • Experience with enclave and network security within classified environments.
  • RHEL system administration and hardening experience in an on-premises environment.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Primarily office and secure lab environments. Ability to work in a high-paced environment and respond to security incidents as required.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
