Booz Allen is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support space-related DoD programs, bringing RMF and risk-mitigation experience to deliver secure, compliant systems for DoD missions.

You will work with Booz Allen and military customers to test, evaluate, and rapidly deploy space sensing capabilities, drafting necessary docs and ensuring RMF lifecycle governance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer for space-related DoD programs.
  • Experience with RMF process activities and RMF documentation (NIST 800-53 Rev 5).
  • Experience with eMASS.
  • Experience creating and managing POA&Ms.
  • Experience drafting ISAs, MOUs, SLAs, and other RMF-related docs.
  • Knowledge of networking/cyber architecture (DMZs, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEMs).
  • Ability to manage cyber documentation throughout the RMF lifecycle.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • DoD 8140 Level II Certification such as Security+.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer on our team, you’ll work with Booz Allen colleagues and the military to develop and rapidly deploy the next generation of Space Sensing capabilities to deter attacks and provide critical information to our warfighters to defeat our enemies in battle.

Your customer will trust you to not only test, analyze, evaluate, validate, and verify these systems, but also identify areas requiring urgent mitigation upfront and early to develop this system with advanced technology solutions.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer supporting space-related Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including space, ground, and hardware systems
  • Experience providing input to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process activities and related documentation such as NIST 800-53 Rev 5
  • Experience with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Experience developing and managing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to track and remediate vulnerabilities
  • Experience drafting cyber Interconnection Security Agreement (ISAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Service Level Agreement (SLAs), and other non-RMF documentation
  • Knowledge of networking and cyber architecture as it pertains to networking, including Demilitarized Zones (DMZs), Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), or Security Information and Event Management systems (SIEMs)
  • Ability to manage cyber documentation processes throughout the RMF lifecycle
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • DoD 8140 Level II Certification such as Security+ Certification
Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with XACTA or other cybersecurity, risk, and compliance (GRC) platforms
  • Experience with cloud-based systems
  • Experience with Documented Operational Security Architecture (DOSA)
  • Experience with space-based remote sensing systems
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance, Information Security, or a related field preferred; Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or Information Security a plus
  • DoD 8140 Level III Certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification, including ISSEP or ISSAP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
