Job summary

Aurora Health Care seeks a cybersecurity professional to collaborate with engineers to maintain security systems, assess risk, and enforce policies across the computing environment. The role supports incident response and guides teammates on security controls.

You will monitor multiple security tools, handle confidential investigations, lead small projects, provide training, and communicate findings to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent knowledge.
• 2–4+ years in cybersecurity with practical experience.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, and related frameworks.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex security issues and provide solutions.

Responsibilities

• Works with Cybersecurity Engineers to maintain cybersecurity systems through SOPs, processes, and guidelines.
• Assesses risk and suggests improvements to procedures or controls.
• Participates in incident response (CIRT) as directed by management.
• Guides teammates on applying security controls and policy usage.
• Monitors multiple cybersecurity systems and recommends resolutions.
• Maintains confidentiality of investigations and forensics reviews.
• Manages cybersecurity projects with periodic autonomy and reporting.
• Provides cybersecurity training and presents to audiences of up to 100 people.
• Interacts with Privacy, Legal, and law enforcement as directed by leadership.
• Keeps current with cybersecurity regulatory, technology, and operational trends.

• Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the computing environment and enforces the Acceptable Use Policy.
• Participates in incident response (CIRT) as directed by management.
• Understands what is allowed by policy, how to apply most security controls, and provides guidance to other teammates.
• Monitors multiple cybersecurity systems, solutions, or services and identifies potential issues for additional review and recommends potential resolutions while also assisting other teammates.
• Adheres to the confidentiality of investigations, incidents, and forensics reviews.
• Manages cybersecurity projects with minor guidance, assists other teammates, and provides reporting to management. In some cases, ability to lead cybersecurity projects with autonomy. These may include 3rd party security reviews, DLP solutions, proxies, identifying risk, vulnerabilities, remote access requests, biomedical device reviews, and other projects or duties defined by management.
• Provides cybersecurity training and performs presentations to medium size audiences of less than 100 people on cybersecurity topics.
• Works with sensitive information and engages with Privacy, the Legal Department, and law enforcement, where directed by leadership.
• Understands and has working knowledge of trends in cybersecurity regulatory, technology, and operational requirements.

Licensure, Registration And/or Certification Required

None Required.

Education Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent knowledge in IT or related field .

Experience Required

2-4 years in cybersecurity.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint. Personal computers, laptops, servers, appliances, smart devices and associated equipment.
• Working experience with HIPAA, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF), PCI DSS, NIST (SP) 800-82r3, and associated methodologies.
• Experience troubleshooting, reasoning, and using problem solving skills to offer solutions to reasonably complex problems.
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team and to assist other teammates.
• Must be able to multi-task and adapt to rapidly, changing priorities in a dynamic work environment while producing quality results with minimal supervision.
• Technical experience with security technologies which may include, but is not limited to, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Scanners, Firewalls, VPNs, Proxies, Secure Email Gateways, Endpoint Detection and Response, Data Loss Prevention, Exact Data Matching, Medical Device Management and OT/IoT Solutions, risk management platforms.
• Working knowledge of security protocols and standards including, but not limited to, SFTP, TLS, SSH, AES, etc.
• Respond to customer requests in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• This is a remote position that requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
• Exposed to a normal office environment.
• Must be available for callback support on a regular basis including travel to facilities located in various states. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Extensive evening and weekend hours may be required during incidents, major project go-lives, or during downtimes.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds.
