Job summary

Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, invites applications for a full-time, professional-track or tenure-track position as Instructor of the Practice or Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity, starting July 1, 2027.

The role emphasizes knowledge of SCADA and ICS security, with responsibilities including teaching 30 credits per year (Instructor) or 24 credits (Assistant Professor), contributing to program development, and fulfilling normal faculty duties.

Qualifications

For Instructor of the Practice, a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or closely related field by Spring 2027 is required.
A terminal degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required to be considered for the Assistant Professor.
Industry experience strongly preferred.
Interest in Industrial Control Systems security preferred.
Prior teaching experience is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collegiality and teamwork are desired.
An interest in active learning, experiential learning, and student engagement is also desirable.

Responsibilities

Teach 30 credits of lecture and laboratory courses in cybersecurity each academic year for Instructor of the Practice.
Teach 24 credits of lecture and laboratory courses in cybersecurity each academic year for Assistant Professor.
Contribute to the ongoing development of programs and projects in Cybersecurity and related areas.
Perform defined campus-wide duties including holding office hours, attending department, college, and division faculty meetings, and adhering to University policy and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
