Job summary

The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, seeks a senior technical authority for CJIS compliance and cybersecurity governance within the Technical Services Bureau. You will lead complex cybersecurity initiatives across enterprise systems and manage audits, risk, and policy enforcement to safeguard data and public safety operations.

Applicants should bring at least one year of specialized CJIS security experience, with strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field with broad IT knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in IT, Cybersecurity, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as MPD’s senior technical authority for CJIS compliance and cybersecurity governance.
• Lead compliance with FBI CJIS Security Policy and other federal, DC, and MPD requirements.
• Develop and monitor cybersecurity strategies, project plans, budgets, risk registers, and action plans.
• Provide guidance on CJIS security controls, encryption, auditing, and incident response; lead audits and corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments of systems, applications, and data-sharing arrangements; coordinate with ISOs and CSOs.
