Description
BMA is seeking a Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. This is a fully remote role.
Job Summary
- Reports to the Project Manager.
- Serves as a cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of information systems and all associated cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Performs Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity processes while either authorizing an information system or serving as a SME for a system undergoing authorization.
- Possesses an understanding of how the security controls identified in NIST 800-53 apply to the assessment and authorization of a large organization’s IT infrastructure, such as DLA’s, which includes large and small enclaves, AIS applications, and outsourced IT processes.
- Determines the applicable severity value for identified vulnerabilities (e.g., non-compliant security controls) and assesses the potential ramifications on the system’s current or future authorization.
- Briefs senior management on the progress or results of information systems undergoing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
Clearance Requirements
There is a DoD Secret Security clearance requirement for this role.
Required Skills & Certifications
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or relevant field.
- Current Identity and Access Management (IAM) Level III: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)/CompTIA SecurityX.
- Current Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) Analyst certification.
- 5+ years of relevant A&A; RMF and NIST A&A experience; and DOD cybersecurity experience.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing security controls and conducting authorization reviews for large, complex organizations
- Demonstrated experience in the general tenets supporting the overall DOD implementation of its authorization process, including supporting cybersecurity policy, procedures, and processes.
- Demonstrated experience with DevSecOps.
- Knowledgeable in the cybersecurity of emerging technology areas such as Cloud and Industrial Control Systems (ICSs), warehouse execution systems and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructures.
Desired Skills & Certifications
- Possession of one or more of the following: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associates, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate.
