Job summary

The Cybersecurity Analyst Intern for Hockey Western New York, LLC will support protection of digital assets, infrastructure, and game-day technology operations. You will gain hands-on experience in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats in a high-availability environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring traffic and alerts, assisting in incident response, vulnerability prioritization, and policy improvement in line with NIST/CIS/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
• Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001), preferred.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, endpoint protection or vulnerability scanning tools, preferred.
• Entry-level certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, Network+) are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring network traffic, security alerts, and logs using security tools and platforms.
• Support incident response activities, including triage, investigation, and documentation of security events.
• Help identify, research, and prioritize vulnerabilities across systems, applications, and network infrastructure.
• Contribute to maintaining and improving security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry frameworks.
• Participate in the analysis of potential threats, suspicious activity, and security incidents.
• Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure secure configuration and system deployments.
• Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and defensive technologies.
• Assist with compliance-related activities and security reporting as needed.
• Maintains upmost confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned.
