Job summary

V2X is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst II to join our AFCENT NOSC IT team. The role involves mid-level analysis of IDS, vulnerability assessments, and developing methods to detect and prevent network intrusion. On-call support may be required, including nights or weekends, and TDY deployments to the CENTCOM AOR are possible.

Responsibilities include analyzing IDS/IPS logs, implementing countermeasures, and supporting IT and networking operations across LAN/WAN and security domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher not required; relevant IT experience accepted
• CompTIA Network+ and CCNA certifications preferred
• ITIL Foundation certification recommended or in progress

Responsibilities

• Analyze network intrusion detection systems and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop countermeasures to isolate and contain intrusions.
• Install, configure, maintain, and manage security devices including IDS/IPS and forensics tools.
• Analyze DNS, proxy, AD, and file server logs.
• Write scripts to support Cybersecurity toolsets.
• Provide general IT, networking, LAN/WAN, and O&M support.

V2X is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst II to join our AFCENT NOSC IT team. The candidate should have mid-level experience in analyzing intrusion detection systems (IDS), conducting vulnerability assessments, and developing methods to detect and prevent network intrusion. May require on-call support during periods of non-traditional working hours including nights or weekends. Employee may be required to support OCONUS TDY assignments to the CENTCOM AOR (2-month increments).

Responsibilities

• Analyze network intrusion detection systems and conduct vulnerability assessments.
• Develop methods to detect and prevent intrusive activities utilizing knowledge. Assist in developing countermeasures to isolate, contain and prevent intrusive actives and secure.
• Install, configure, maintain, and manage security devices to include IDS/IPS, ESS/HBSS, and forensic tools.
• Assist in development and documentation of sensor process and checklists.
• Analyze network firewall and computer network server (DNS, proxy, domain controller, file server, Active Directory) logs.
• Develop methods to identify contain, log, and analyze intrusive activities and security vulnerabilities on networks.
• Conduct network security monitoring and intrusion detection analysis using selected security tools to IDS/IPS, firewall, proxy, router, Fidelis, Trellix, and LogRhythm logs.
• Write and develop custom scripts as needed to perform tasks related to all Cybersecurity toolset.
• Provide General IT Management support.
• Provide General Networking support.
• Provide LAN support.
• Provide WAN Enterprise support.
• Provide technical general O&M support as required.
• Provide documentation/reports support as required.
• Provide meetings/briefings support as required.
• Provide functional training support as required.
• Provide OCONUS deployment/TDY travel support as required.
• Provide CONUS TDY support as required.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

• Associates in related field and 3 or more years' relevant IT experience

or

• 5 or more years' relevant IT experience.

Certifications

• CompTIA Network+

or

• Cisco CCNA

and

• ITIL Foundation (candidate has up to 60 days to acquire ITIL Foundation certification)

Experience

• Firewall experience
• Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments, and Windows Server using server images.
• Experience with implementation of storage solutions, high availability, Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advance network infrastructure, and maintain and monitor server environments.
