Cybersecurity Analyst II - Cyber Threat Intel (Remote)

Position Purpose

The Home Depot's Cyber Threat Intelligence team is looking for a cyber defender with experience and skills to identify threats as they emerge. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, attacker trends, and malware. Critical thinking outside the box is essential to identify threats impacting one of North America's largest retailers. Knowledge of the OWASP top 10 and adversary exploitation techniques is a plus. This role supports Threat Intelligence Notifications and Operations activities within the team.

Role Description:

Security Operations (Security Analytics and Cyber Threat Intelligence) Systems II Cybersecurity Analyst:

  • Ability to produce well-written reports and documentation for organizational distribution.
  • Technical understanding of vulnerabilities across various technologies.
  • Growth mindset, interested in learning the tools and processes of Home Depot's Cybersecurity department.
  • Familiarity with intelligence writing and structured analytic techniques such as analysis of competing hypotheses and 'Devil's Advocate.'
  • Understanding of corporate IT environments.
  • Research skills to produce technical and non-technical data into actionable reports.
  • Experience with Cyber Threat Intelligence, including familiarity with security researchers, vendors, and open-source reports.
  • Research skills related to cyber adversary TTPs, IOCs, malware, and infrastructure.
  • Experience or willingness to learn project planning and process design.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and its applications.

  • Knowledge of industry frameworks such as Cyber Kill Chain, NIST SP-800-53, MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND

Protecting what matters most by securing sensitive data and assets from threats. Cybersecurity at Home Depot includes Architecture, Governance, IAM, Threat Operations, Compliance, Risk, Security Consulting, Operations, and Strategic Planning.

Analysts II perform data gathering, analysis, synthesis, and develop solutions to support cybersecurity practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • 60% Analysis: synthesize data, develop solutions, communicate with stakeholders, analyze problems.
  • 10% Collaborate: partner cross-functionally to identify trends and resolve issues.
  • 30% Drive Execution: ensure project goals are met, implement solutions to meet expectations.

  • Typically reports to Manager or Sr. Manager
  • No direct reports

Travel Requirements

  • Less than 10% overnight travel

Physical Requirements

  • Mostly sitting, occasional movement or lifting light articles

Minimum Qualifications

  • 18+ years old
  • Legally permitted to work in the US

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.

Minimum Experience

  • 2+ years in cybersecurity
  • Action-oriented, collaborative, effective communication, customer focus, results-driven
