Type One Energy in Madison, Wisconsin is hiring a Cyber Security Analyst to help mature its information security program. The role focuses on building automated inventory pipelines, onboarding a new SIEM, and providing incident response readiness.

This is an early-career position with growth into deeper security operations. You will collaborate with IT, engineering, legal, and finance, contribute to security controls, and support external audits while developing automation and detection

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in IT, security operations, or related technical role; equivalent education plus hands‑on experience considered

Responsibilities

• Lead buildout of automated hardware and software inventory pipelines
• Support implementation and tuning of a new SIEM with data source onboarding and detector development
• Maintain authoritative system inventory and audit-ready evidence for ITGC
• Monitor and triage security events with the SOC provider and grow into internal security operations
• Identify and coordinate remediation of vulnerabilities across endpoints and identities
• Support access management, change management, and asset completeness for audits
• Contribute to incident response readiness, runbooks, and post‑incident docs
• Maintain security docs and control records in the security document suite
