Job summary

The Cybersecurity Analyst at Marist University is a member of the Cybersecurity Team within Information Technology. The role detects and mitigates threats across the Marist network and systems, partnering with IT staff to continually improve security posture on campus.

Responsibilities include administering the SIEM, expanding Governance, Risk and Compliance, enhancing vulnerability management, and supporting internal audits, penetration testing, and incident response efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
  • Experience with SIEM and security monitoring is preferred.

Job Summary:

The Cybersecurity Analyst is a member of the Cybersecurity Team as part of Marist Information Technology. The Analyst is responsible for detecting and mitigating cybersecurity threats across the Marist network and systems from internal and external
sources. This position will work closely with IT Operational staff in other IT areas to continually improve the security posture of the Marist network and systems.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity or a related field

  • One to three years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field


Essential Functions:


  • Administer SIEM platform and review systems logs for security issues and patterns

  • Assist in expanding the existing Governance, Risk and Compliance program to improve the maturity of the cyber program

  • Assist enhancing the vulnerability management program to improve the security posture of Marist systems

  • Improve internal auditing program; vulnerability management, system hardening baselines, penetration test, phishing & social engineering tests and attacks

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity or a related field

  • Three to five years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field

  • Tuition Benefits:

    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.

    • University pays 100% tuition only.

    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.
