Job Description

Job Description:

We are seeking a Cybersecurity AI Engineer to join the Cybersecurity Automation & AI team within our Cybersecurity Engineering organization. This senior specialist role is responsible for applying machine learning and data engineering to solve complex, high-impact security problems across our enterprise.

You will work across platforms such as Microsoft Defender XDR, Sentinel, ServiceNow, ADX, and Databricks, building ML pipelines, scoring engines, enrichment logic, and intelligent automation triggers that advance proactive cyber defense. This role is not focused on research or analytics alone—it is a hands-on engineering role that brings AI to life within cybersecurity workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement machine learning systems and pipelines to automate security intelligence, prioritization, and response.

  • Operationalize ML models across enterprise-scale platforms, including Defender XDR, Sentinel, and ServiceNow.

  • Build APIs, logic layers, and model wrappers that enable integration of scoring and risk signals into real-time security workflows.

  • Transform data science prototypes into production-grade software components.

  • Collaborate with security automation engineers to embed ML outputs into process automation and decision-making frameworks.

  • Leverage telemetry from disparate data sources (ADX, Databricks, native platform feeds) to generate meaningful insights and actions.

  • Translate security engineering problems into ML/AI solutions with measurable outcomes.

  • Stay current on evolving cyber threats, AI techniques, and telemetry platforms relevant to enterprise security defense.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred).

  • Typically 5+ years of experience delivering ML/AI systems in production environments, with strong Python engineering skills and a demonstrated ability to build production-grade solutions in cybersecurity or adjacent engineering domains.

  • Deep understanding of ML model deployment, APIs, pipeline orchestration, and system integration.

  • Experience working with security telemetry and platforms such as Sentinel, Defender XDR, ServiceNow, or SIEM/SOAR tools.

  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams delivering cybersecurity outcomes.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain ML decisions and outcomes to engineering and risk stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with threat detection, alert enrichment, triage automation, or identity and endpoint telemetry.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft security technologies, enterprise ITSM, or identity systems.

  • Understanding of risk modeling frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, CVSS) and their application to ML scoring or prioritization.

  • Familiarity with MLOps best practices and governance in enterprise environments.

About the Role:

This position plays a critical role in transforming how cybersecurity operates—leveraging AI and data science not as separate functions, but as embedded capabilities inside enterprise security platforms. You will act as the technical bridge between data science, engineering, and security platform execution.

This is a cybersecurity engineering role, embedded inside a team focused on high-impact automation and intelligence delivery. You will not own tools, but will work across them to drive integration and measurable outcomes that reduce risk and improve operational resilience.
