Job summary

Austin Community College District is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to prepare and deliver cybersecurity coursework across on-campus, online, and dual-credit formats. The role emphasizes culturally responsive teaching and alignment with department outcomes.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction, assessing student progress with timely feedback, and staying current through professional development. Collaboration with the department chair and college leadership is expected.

Qualifications

• Three years of non-teaching, industry-related work experience specifically related to cybersecurity, networking, or cloud computing.
• Experience delivering coursework in higher education is preferred.
• Commitment to student success and culturally responsive teaching.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach cybersecurity courses to a multicultural student population, aligned with the department's learning outcomes.
• Evaluate student progress and provide timely, clear feedback.
• Provide teaching and mentoring that is inclusive and non-discriminatory.
• Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
• Attend department and college-wide activities and meetings.

Education

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, Computer or Software Engineering; or Computer-based Information Systems (e.g., management, decision, data-processing) or Network Security

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, Computer or Software Engineering, Network Security, or Computer-Based Information Systems
