Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Cyber Threat Hunter to proactively hunt for advanced threats across networks, endpoints, and data sources. You will analyze logs, establish baselines, and collaborate with SOC to improve alerts and monitoring.

The role includes development of automation scripts and malware/reverse engineering tasks as needed. Your work will strengthen incident response capabilities and threat detection maturity within a proactive SOC model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, CS, or cybersecurity.
• 4 years of cybersecurity or related security role experience.
• Ability to perform system administrator–level analysis across multiple platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess adversary TTPs.
• Knowledge of intrusion detection methods, evidence preservation, and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting across networks, endpoints, and data to identify and help eradicate advanced threats.
• Analyze logs from multiple sources to detect suspicious behavior and validate threat activity.
• Establish baselines for normal traffic and system activity to improve anomaly detection.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts to update alerts, analytics, and monitoring logic.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline threat hunting and reduce response time.
• Research adversary TTPs to develop investigative leads.
• Support incident response by creating documentation and recommendations.
• Examine malware and cyber threats to determine impact.
• Apply reverse engineering using tools like Ghidra and IDA Pro to support research.
