Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Cyber Detection Event Analyst to join its Security Operations team. You will monitor alerts across endpoints, network, cloud, and manufacturing environments, investigate suspicious activity, and help improve detection capabilities using SIEM, EDR, NDR, and SOAR.

You will collaborate with Incident Response and Threat Intelligence teams, apply MITRE ATT&CK techniques, develop detection content, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to strengthen GM’s security

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity focusing on security operations or threat detection.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills for complex datasets.
• Experience with security alerts and events investigations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage, and investigate security alerts across detection environments.
• Develop and improve detection logic, rules, and analytics to enhance threat visibility.
• Apply MITRE ATT&CK methodologies to detection and investigation activities.
• Create queries and dashboards to improve investigative efficiency.
• Collaborate with Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and Cloud Security teams.
