Job summary

Kaztronix seeks a Cyber Systems Security Engineer to support DoD programs at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. You will ensure RMF compliance, prepare artifacts, and manage system baselines.

Required: active DoD Final Secret clearance (Top Secret may be required), Security+ or DoD 8140 equivalent, and a 9x80A on-site schedule. This is a 100% on-site role at a government facility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure RMF standards for information systems by coordinating with ISSM/ISSO.
• Prepare, maintain and submit RMF artifacts per contract SOW and ISSO delivery schedules.
• Create/update information system artifacts like hardware/software baselines and network diagrams.
• Apply STIGs and maintain RMF-based compliance per DoD/DAAG policies.
• Support Continuous Monitoring tools (e.g., Qmulos, Splunk, DISA ACAS, Nessus, Trellix) in the environment.
• Support program projects by updating security artifacts and authorization materials.
• Collaborate with CSSEs, mission system engineers and ISSM/ISSO to prioritize findings and remediations.
• Assist Change & Asset Management in tracking info system changes and inventories.
• Lead knowledge sharing and mentor peers; coordinate with teams to resolve issues.
• Attend Agile/Jira planning sessions to define scope and schedule cyber engineering tasks.

Cyber Systems Security Engineer

A Global Defense Contractor is seeking multiple Cyber Systems Security Engineer's to join their team! Cyber Systems Security Engineering: In this role you will deliver cyber systems security support for the program s classified information at the Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

Requirements

• Active DoD Final Secret security clearance (future Top Secret may be required).
• Current Security+ certification, or DoD 8140 Cybersecurity Workforce equivalent.
• Follow a 9x80A schedule.
• 100% on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring information systems meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards by directly communicating with the designated Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)/Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).
• Preparing, maintaining and submitting RMF-artifacts in support of and in accordance with the prime contractor statement of work or as necessary to support ISSM delivery schedule(s).
• Creating and updating information system artifacts, such as hardware/software baselines, Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM), network diagrams, etc.
• Apply STIGs, perform trusted downloads, and maintain RMF based compliance in accordance with DoW policy and/or Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Assess and Authorization Guide (DAAG) and Classified corporate policy.
• Support execution of Continuous Monitoring cyber tools for the environment, e.G., Qmulos, Splunk, DISA ACAS (or Nessus), and Trellix Endpoint Security).
• Support ongoing program projects by generating, updating, and/or providing security authorization engineering artifacts.
• Work with fellow CSSEs, mission system engineers and the ISSM/ISSO teams to prioritize cyber findings and/or advise on engineering remediations.
• Change & Asset Management support information system changes using change management tools and keep asset inventories up to date.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing lead technical best practice discussions, mentor peers, and coordinate with functional teams to resolve issues.
• Support and attend all Agile/Jira program planning sessions to identify scope, schedule and completion of cyber engineering tasks.

Experience & Education

Seeking E3 - 7 years and advanced degree or 9 years and bachelor's degree.
