Job summary
Cymertek Corporation is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions for our information systems in San Antonio, TX. The role emphasizes risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with IT/security teams to protect assets and data.
The ideal candidate has strong security foundations, experience with vulnerability management, and knowledge of standards such as NIST. Full U.S.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or related field.
- 4–5 years of relevant ISSE experience or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of information security principles and risk assessment.

- Design and implement security solutions for information systems

- Proficiency in security tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems)
- Strong understanding of encryption technologies
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., NIST, HIPAA)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) practices
- Expertise in threat detection and mitigation strategies
- Experience with cloud security models (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of network security protocols and architecture
- Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
- Proficiency in security automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Understanding of secure software development practices
- Experience with risk management frameworks and security audits
