Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Digital Forensic Analyst to perform research, evaluate system configurations, and improve security posture across networks and infrastructure. You will analyze traffic, conduct forensics, assess cloud/web apps, and identify risks while applying best practices for Linux and Windows environments.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, a technical degree, and 8+ years of experience (or 6+ with an MS/MA).

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and 8 yrs of experience, or 4 additional years may be accepted as equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience across analysis, network engineering, network security, offensive experience, technical collection, penetration testing, red teaming, hardware engineering, software reverse engineering, and/or computer exploitation.
  • 5+ years of cumulative experience in three or more of: mobile device security, telecommunications protocols, OS (Linux, Android, Windows, iOS), software reverse engineering, computer forensics, vulnerability assessment, and/or malware forensics.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software development and some proficiency in scripting/programming languages and database development.
  • Organizational skills and adaptability to dynamic customer requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform network traffic analysis to identify anomalous behavior.
  • Conduct computer forensics and security vulnerability analysis using COTS and/or customer-provided tools.
  • Evaluate cloud services, web applications, and COTS software/hardware.
  • Identify gaps in cybersecurity systems and processes to reduce organizational risks.
  • Offer innovative cyber defense solutions to protect systems.
  • Participate in the penetration test lifecycle to understand threats and recommend solutions.
  • Understand and recommend industry best practices for configuring networks and Linux/Windows machines.
  • Leverage tools like Splunk and Wireshark to aid analysis.

Program Overview

Provides technical targeting and all-source intelligence analysis to support the Client across the entire intelligence lifecycle. Delivers expertise in areas such as threat analysis, cybersecurity, signals analysis, and network intrusion, delivering mission-critical support for every aspect of the mission.

About The Role

The Digital Forensic Analyst will conduct research, evaluate system configuration data, and provide recommendations to enhance security posture of network and infrastructure. The successful applicant must understand network protocols to identify attack points that could be exploited by an adversary and work with the team to implement changes to mitigate potential weaknesses/vulnerabilities. Additionally, the Digital Forensic Analyst will:

  • Perform network traffic analysis of organizational systems to analyze raw packet data and identify anomalous behavior;
  • Conduct computer forensics and security vulnerability analysis using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or customer-provided tools;
  • Evaluate cloud services, web applications, and COTS software and hardware;
  • Identify gaps in cybersecurity systems and processes to reduce organizational risks;
  • Offer innovative cyber defense solutions to protect systems;
  • Participate in the penetration test lifecycle to understand threats and recommend solutions;
  • Understand and recommend industry best practices for the configuration of networks and Linux and Windows machines;
  • Leverage analytical tools (e.g., Splunk, Wireshark, etc.) to assist in analysis

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working across technical competencies such as: analysis, network engineering, network security, offensive experience, technical collection, penetration testing, red teaming, hardware engineering, software reverse engineering, and/or computer exploitation
  • 5+ years of cumulative experience in three or more of the following: mobile device security, telecommunications protocols, Operating Systems (Linux, Android, Windows, iOS), software reverse engineering, computer forensics, vulnerability assessment, and/or malware forensics
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software development and some demonstrated proficiency in scripting and/or programming languages and database development
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the willingness and ability to adapt to dynamic and unexpected customer requirements
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging technology issues
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCFP, CCSP, CEH, GCFA, and/or GCIA

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
