Job summary

IBM Consulting seeks early-career interns to support real client security projects across applications, data, cloud environments, and critical infrastructure. You will work with experienced consultants, building hands-on skills in cybersecurity, cloud technologies, security operations, automation, and AI-enabled security capabilities.

Interns may be considered for IBM’s full-time Associates program based on performance. The internship dates are May to July 2027 (10 weeks).

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a university degree with strong academic record; preferred majors include Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, MIS Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Proven problem-solving, adaptability and collaboration in project-based environments.
• Familiarity with network security concepts and encryption protocols.
• Exposure to security domains such as Threat Management, Security Operations, Data & Application Security, IAM, Cloud Security, or Governance, Risk & Compliance.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages and basic software testing/DevSecOps practices.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Support real client security projects that protect applications, data, cloud environments, and critical infrastructure.
• Work with senior consultants to analyze business and technical requirements and support security solutions across people, processes, and technology.
• Assist with security monitoring, threat detection, IAM, cloud and infrastructure security activities.
