Job summary

MITRE seeks a Cybersecurity and Privacy Strategy & Policy Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to shape sponsor programs through policy and technical leadership. You will guide risk management, security controls, and privacy initiatives across government-facing initiatives, mentoring peers and coordinating with sponsors.

The role requires active Top Secret clearance, on-site work four days per week, and collaboration across MITRE’s national security programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with substantial cybersecurity experience.
• Experience with RMF, NIST SP-800 series, Zero Trust, and security controls analysis required.
• Experience creating or analyzing policy at Federal level and strong technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity policy, strategy, and technical assessments for government sponsors.
• Develop and implement security strategies for MITRE programs and sponsors.
• Mentor junior professionals within the team.
• Lead Cybersecurity Risk Management using RMF and related methodologies.
• Conduct security controls analyses, workshops, and audits for internal and partner teams.
• Collaborate with MITRE, government, and contractors; communicate effectively in writing and presentations.
• Promote collaboration across department and MITRE units.
