Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Cyber Security Systems Engineer to design, implement, harden, and sustain secure mission systems across CONUS and OCONUS environments. The role emphasizes automation, CI/CD security, and DoD compliance.

The position is based in King of Prussia, PA, hybrid with onsite 3 days a week, and requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Travel up to 25% is anticipated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related STEM discipline.
  • Minimum 9+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, information assurance or relevant experience
  • Experience securing Linux and/or Windows operating systems in enterprise or mission environments.
  • Experience with automation tools specifically Ansible and familiarity with deployment automation
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53 & 800-171
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation tools
  • Experience with scripting languages and automation tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (or higher, as required)

Standard Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, hardening, and sustainment of secure mission systems across both CONUS and OCONUS environments. This role requires strong technical expertise in systems engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure security, automation, and DevSecOps practices. The ideal candidate will support secure architecture development, system accreditation activities, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and automation of security controls within CI/CD pipelines. The Cyber Systems Engineer will work closely with software engineers, infrastructure teams, customer representatives, security architects, program leadership, and operational users to ensure mission systems remain secure, resilient, and compliant.



This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level. This position is based out of King of Prussia, PA and is hybrid but required to work onsite 3 days a week. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25%.

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related STEM discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Minimum 9+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, information assurance or relevant experience

  • Experience securing Linux and/or Windows operating systems in enterprise or mission environments.

  • Experience with Automation tools specifically Ansible and familiarity with deployment automation

  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as the following and associated documentation: NIST SP 800-53 & NIST 800-171

  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation tools.

  • Experience with scripting languages and automation tools

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (or higher, as required).



Desired Skills


  • Possess an approved DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level II (CISSP, CAP, etc.)

  • Experience supporting DoD weapon systems, aviation platforms, or classified mission systems.

  • Experience with Containerization technologies to include Kubernetes and Openshift

  • Experience with Virtualization platforms/hypervisors

  • Experience implementing container security and Kubernetes hardening.

  • Familiarity with SIEM Tools deployment and administration specifically ArcSight

  • Experience with Zero Trust architecture and cyber resiliency engineering.

  • Experience supporting environmental handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) & Air-gapped or disconnected systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently in dynamic mission environments.

  • Ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.



Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
