Cyber Software Engineer, Senior Advisor (occasional telework)

Responsibilities

As our Cyber Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to:

  • Implement, test, and operate advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture.
  • Perform ongoing security testing and code review to improve software security.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise.
  • Provide engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to all levels of the architecture and maintain technical documentation.
  • Consult team members on secure coding practices.
  • Develop a familiarity with new tools and best practices.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Twenty (20) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
    • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent 8 years developing production systems.
  • Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful Service and familiarity with cloud development techniques, resources, and tools.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph.
Core Competencies and Skills:
  • Experience in agile software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, problem diagnosis/resolution, and source code management practices & tools.
  • Experience developing software with high-level languages such as Java, C, C++ for distributed systems, with proficiency in networking, multi-threading and implementation of REST APIs.
  • Experience with the Spring framework, messaging frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ), streaming analytics (Apache Flink, Spark), management of containerized applications (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with enabling tools (Git, Maven, Jira), DevOps (Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab CI/Pipelines), Continuous Monitoring (ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana), Nagios).
  • Experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Accumulo, and Apache NiFi.
  • Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, BASH, etc.).
  • Experience with AWS Cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud security, and Automation (AWS Lambda, CloudFormation).

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
