Job description

Nightwing supports a U.S. Government customer to provide onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners experiencing cyber‑attacks. The Software Developer will help investigate and resolve security incidents by developing and maintaining software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Designing, troubleshooting, and implementing software code for end‑to‑end software development and service integrations.
• Developing, enhancing, debugging, integrating, and implementing software stacks for on‑premise and cloud‑based tools and services.
• Troubleshooting production problems related to software applications and pipeline workflows.
• Researching, testing, building, and coordinating the integration of new products based on user and mission requirements.
• Initiating assessment and recommendation of application software packages, integration, and testing tools.
• Automating deployments, testing, and builds using IaC tooling including Ansible, Terraform, Git‑CI, and others.
• Implementing recommendations for improving documentation and development process standards.
• Ensuring quality control of all developed and modified prototype software through rigorous staged testing and pipelines.
• Establishing optimal configurations and tunings for COTS, GOTS, and open‑source technologies pertaining to mission needs and project baselines.
• Working within Linux and container‑heavy environments including OpenShift, RHEL, Alma, and Docker.

Required Skills / Clearances

• U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
• Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
• 2+ years of directly relevant application development experience.
• Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle and code versioning and maintenance.
• Experience assessing and integrating commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) products.
• Familiarity with installation, demonstration, test, validation, and evaluation of new and existing software, tools, methods, and measurement technologies.
• Operational experience with Python and Linux terminals.
• Knowledge of software automation, application development, and RESTful architecture.
• Knowledge of data ETL workflows for on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Experience developing with containerization software including Kubernetes, Docker, and Redshift.
• Experience with IaC, including Ansible, Git‑CI, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
• Strong communication skills and experience interacting with customers in a project environment or technical demonstration.
• Ability to collaborate across remote and physical locations.

Desired Skills

• Experience with two or more of the following: Python, JSON, Data Analytics, MongoDB, MinIO, Ansible, Vue.js, React, HTML, Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, OpenShift, AWS, View Jazz Framework, Process Automation, Terraform, CI/CD knowledge.

Required Education

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or related degree; or HS Diploma & 4‑6 years of directly relevant experience.

Desired Certifications

• CSSLP, Sec+, Syndeo: ESS‑3605.
