Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cyber Security Systems Administrator to join the team at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL. The role focuses on securing and maintaining DoD information systems, enforcing STIGs, and overseeing eMASS/POA&M processes.

The ideal candidate has a TS/SCI clearance, DoD 8570 IAT II certification, and strong communication skills to collaborate with system owners and developers in a fast-paced defense environment. This position is on-site at MacDill AFB in Tampa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus five years’ experience; four additional years may be substituted for degree.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.
• DoW 8140 compliant under Work Role Code 411 - Technical Support Specialist - Intermediate or higher.
• DoD 8570 IAT II Certification.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provides tiered network and systems support per SIE OPORD; assists with complex databases, config control, and interfaces.
• Maintains and administers servers and infrastructure; monitors, storage, files, and network access.
• Installs, configures, optimizes OS and hardware; conducts server builds and recovery; resolves cross-domain issues including VDI components.
• Coordinates with software engineers to fix errors; maintains SOPs for infrastructure and VDI; keeps operation records.
• Develops knowledge of system administration across diverse systems; supports routine patches and upgrades; tracks vulnerability mitigations.

Description

SAIC is seeking a Cyber Security Systems Administrator to join their team at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL.

The Cyber Security Systems Administrator will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

• Performs tier one and two network and systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD, including support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces.
• Maintains and administers servers and infrastructure: monitors and controls mid-range application servers and storage devices; maintains file servers and network access; studies program operating instructions to determine equipment setup/operations; documents, analyzes, and troubleshoots system anomalies and failures to ensure optimum performance.
• Installs, configures, optimizes, and maintains operating systems and hardware: installs OS software, patches, and upgrades; configures, fine‑tunes, and monitors OS and hardware; conducts server builds; performs system backups and recovery; analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves system hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure issues, including VDI components.
• Coordinates with software systems engineering and application developers to correct errors; develops and maintains SOPs for the infrastructure and VDI environment; maintains operating records such as machine performance and production reports.
• Develops in‑depth knowledge of system administration processes across diverse systems and networks, including monitoring and supporting routine patches, installs, upgrades, and task orders impacting computer systems.
• Tracks, reviews, and ensures quarterly implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across systems to harden operating systems, browsers, applications, software, and networks, applying cybersecurity configuration standards to reduce vulnerabilities.
• Oversees and updates POA&Ms across HQ Campus eMASS packages, ensuring quarterly updates include current scan results, STIG implementations, and evidence of vulnerability mitigation; maintains comprehensive records of deviations from the USSOCOM Enterprise Baseline for software and hardware configurations.
• Works closely with System Owners and Planners to provide Information Assurance guidance for new projects and package renewals, and to develop, update, and sustain cybersecurity documentation, including System Security Plans, Business Continuity Plans, CONOPs, and Vulnerability Management Plans; ensures hardware/software artifacts

Qualifications

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years’ experience; additional four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Clearance

• Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.

Required Skills
