Job summary

Melaleuca in Idaho Falls is seeking an IT Security Intern for the Summer program (May through August). You will join the Incident Response team, helping to respond to cyber security incidents and work with senior engineers.

The role emphasizes initiative, problem solving, and strong communication while gaining hands-on experience in compliance programs such as PCI, GDPR, and Part 11. On-site for ~90 days; GPA 3.75+ preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of cyber security specific courses.
• All IT experience is beneficial, even if not directly related to Cyber Security – help desk, systems administration, networking, etc.
• Cyber Security job experience is preferred but not required.
• Pursuing a degree/career in Cyber Security specifically.
• Preference given to students currently in their junior or senior year of college, pursuing a degree in related field.
• Able to work in Idaho Falls, Idaho for approximately 90 days.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher.
• Strong creativity skills.
• Detailed work and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze problems and create solutions.
• Ability to work independently and follow through on projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• General business skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to cyber security incidents; use of security tools to remediate, cleanup, finalize, and report findings.
• Escalate and collaborate with senior engineers for high-priority or complex incidents.
• Determine mitigation techniques and work with other teams for defensive solutions.
• Assist in Incident Response procedures.
• Review security logs and investigate findings.
• Interact with IT staff globally to gather information and coordinate cyber security projects.
• Assist in compliance programs such as PCI, GDPR, Part 11.
• Audit access and permissions throughout the environment and within applications.
