Job summary

Capital One is seeking Cyber Security Professionals who are passionate about evaluating cyber capabilities, threat intelligence, and risk management to join our team in McLean, VA. You’ll help drive governance, capability maturation, and risk transformation across the organization.

You will lead assessments, synthesize insights for senior management, and mentor colleagues while advancing automation and secure-by-design practices in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• At least 5 years in cybersecurity or IT.
• At least 4 years evaluating or contributing to cybersecurity capabilities.
• Experience with NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, CMMC, FedRAMP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead ongoing advancement of cybersecurity capabilities and services.
• Use data sources to produce risk indicators and program metrics.
• Provide expertise during control and risk assessments with remediation ownership.
• Drive automation to streamline monitoring and risk reporting workflows.
• Synthesize cyber-risk insights for senior management and trends.
• Mentor associates and promote consistent cyber-risk practices.
